Job Description: International Presenters Program Assistant

Location: Toronto (in-person work arrangement)
Time Commitment and Remuneration
Approximately 80 hours, broken down as follows:
- October 5 - 9 (approx. 10 hours)
- October 12-16 (approx. 20 hours)
- October 19-25 (full-time, Festival and IPP)
- 5-10 hours of wrap up post festival
Fee: Two Thousand Canadian Dollars $2,000 + HST (as applicable). IPP Assistant will receive any reimbursements for travel/parking or any out of pocket expenses in alignment with FFDN’s Expense Policy. All seasonal team members will be provided with festival tickets, a festival t-shirt and access to further discounted tickets.
About the Role: International Presenters Program Assistant
The International Presenters Program (IPP) brings together dance artists, presenters, curators, and cultural leaders from across Canada and worldwide to experience new dance works, discover Canadian artists from across the country, and share knowledge. The 4-day program, hosted in collaboration with Fall for Dance North and local and national partners, will include performances, showcases, pitch sessions, and networking opportunities.
The International Presenters Program Assistant will support the IPP Producer in liaising and coordination of presenters/artists, hospitality, transportation, signage, and other production materials related to all the IPP events. This may include supporting both back-of-house and front-of-house set-up and strike, transporting items, printing, pick-ups, hospitality support. This role will work closely with the IPP Producer and Senior Producer to identify general administrative and production needs within the International Presenters Program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact regarding arrangement of production and administrative materials, across all IPP venues;
- Manage on site venue set-up and strike;
- Coordinate with IPP Producer regarding any production or event needs;
- Prep and delivery of presenter delegate bags;
- Support registration and IPP event check-ins;
- Support communications with IPP attendees, artists, presenters, and third-party contractors as required;
- Be present on site during the whole International Presenters Program from October 21 to 24;
Desired Experience/Skills:
- Work experience and interest in events, festival environment, administration, talent coordination
- Leadership experience in events management/performing arts are an asset
- Class G Ontario driver’s license, with access to a vehicle
- Administrative skillset and knowledge of G-Suite, Excel, and other project management softwares
- Very well organized and detail oriented, with ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and adaptable personality - ability to problem solve, embrace flexibility and versatility, while working in a high-paced, evolving environment
- Knowledge of the Toronto downtown core is an asset
