MISSION
Fall for Dance North Festival moves more people to see more dance more often.
VISION
We invite Toronto to fall in love with dance through our annual international festival that makes extraordinary performances affordable. We connect the people of Toronto with the artists who move our city, and these artists share the festival stage with exceptional dancers and choreographers from around the world. We make Fall for Dance North Festival the gateway to dance by stripping away signals of exclusivity and presenting it as an open, social experience that anyone can find and fall into.
VALUES
EXTRAORDINARY DANCE
We present ground-breaking professional dance from around the world. Through the power of dance we celebrate human expression, foster community and connection, and reflect the cultural richness of our city.
ACCESS
We believe extraordinary dance belongs to everyone. We provide access for audiences through low ticket prices, free programming, and by opening pathways for dance artists to engage with and sustain themselves within the sector. Dance brings joy, expresses complex emotions, cultivates understanding and acceptance, and supports mental and physical wellbeing – experiences we believe should be widely shared. Our approach is grounded in the belief that access is not an add-on, but the foundation of all that we do.
EQUITY
We centre diverse voices and perspectives in our programming and partnerships, with an investment in communities historically marginalized in mainstream dance. We are committed to fostering inclusion not just in participation, but in curation and creative leadership. We work to meet artists’ diverse needs by providing appropriate resources and support that enable equitable participation.
SUSTAINABILITY
We are stewards of something larger than ourselves. Through responsible governance, sustainable operations, and a deep commitment to our community, we nurture an environment where artists, staff, and the broader dance ecology can grow, adapt, and flourish over time.
